Same day funds up to $5,000
Life is what happens when we’re making plans. That means living the highs and also struggling through the lows. We may be receiving Centrelink benefits for a variety of reasons such as retrenchment, long-term unemployment, as tiding one over for re-training, being a student living out of home for the first time, being a full-time carer, or as a Veteran or a participant on the NDIS who is unable to work. No matter the reason why, we all need help coming up with big amounts of money when things go wrong.
You may need big sums of money between $500 and $5,000 to replace an appliance such as a fridge, washer, dryer, heater/air conditioner, microwave, or dishwasher that’s stopped working. You may have had a bingle that forces you to pay an insurance excess or for your repairs out of pocket. Sometimes, loved ones across the country or across the world need your immediate help and the only thing you can do is get the next train or flight - which can cost a lot more than booking in advance. You might need to come up with a rental bond to get out of a less than ideal share house or domestic situation. You may be hit with urgent and large medical bills such as day procedures or dental work. Your car might break down and need unavoidable repairs to get you back on the road - or it might be your motorbike, bike, or van. No matter the reason for needing cash fast, Fundo can help.
There is a common myth that Australians receiving Centrelink benefits are not entitled to instant cash loans to help tide them over or pay for urgent expenses.
Fundo has funded hundreds of Australians on Centrelink and government benefits with instant cash loans to help them get back on their feet. We offer quick, three-minute applications and easy to understand terms and conditions, giving you all the details on interest rates, fees, and charges upfront so you’re never surprised during the term of the loan. We aim to make small cash loans as flexible as possible to suit your financial situation and lifestyle. You could have the loan done and dusted in five minutes!
Apply today for a teeny tiny loan from Fundo - you’ll be surprised at how different we are from other lenders!
Before you apply for a small loan from Fundo, you will need to figure out if you are eligible. Our minimum eligibility criteria as of August 2024 is:
If this sounds like you, you can take the next steps to apply for a little loan. To get started, here’s what you need to do:
Our team carefully evaluates every loan application individually, considering your unique personal circumstances to determine loan approval. If you meet the requirements of being at least 18 years old, have 100 points of identity, and a weekly income of at least $1,000, we would be happy to talk to you about your loan options.
If you need help with your application you can call us or use our live text chat on 1800 161 391 between 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturdays or 9am-1pm on Sundays (AEST.)
As long as you meet our minimum eligibility criteria as stated above, you can apply for a Centrelink small cash loan. As long as you receive $1,000 per week in taxable (e.g., not cash in hand) income and can prove it to us, you can be approved for an instant loan from Fundo.
People choose Fundo because we are experienced in approving loans for those who receive some, or all of their income from Centrelink. We approve loans for Centrelink recipients of:
As well as other payments. If you’re unsure, give us a call, email us, or use our live text chat.
If you're looking to borrow a small loan ranging from $500 to $2,000, you'll have repayment options that span from a minimum of 91 days to a maximum of six months. When you choose to make weekly repayments over a shorter period, your payments will be higher. However, this approach helps you save on fees and interest in the long run. If you require a loan amount exceeding $2,000 (up to $5,000), you will have a maximum of two years to repay the borrowed amount. Your loan agreement will provide you with all the details regarding the repayment schedule, as well as any fees and charges that you will need to pay throughout the duration of the loan. We recommend finding a balance between manageable repayments and a shorter loan term, to reduce your amount paid in interest and fees.
These types of loans are designed to settle specific invoices from retailers or service providers, rather than depositing cash directly into your account. It can be quite inconvenient when unexpected bills start piling up.
On top of the actual cost, there are also additional expenses to consider, such as transportation to pick up new whitegoods and various fees and charges such as installation or modification. It's understandable that this can be a financial burden.
A no-interest loan (NIL) from Good Shepherd may also have strict eligibility criteria, and approval can take up to a few days to a week before your invoice is paid - which can be frustrating for someone who needs to pay for immediate travel or car repair work, for example. For urgent invoices, the maximum amount for NILs is $2,000, and for emergency repairs during a disaster, it is $3,000. If you apply for an advance on Centrelink, you can get between $250 and $500, which must be paid back each fortnight as a deduction from your usual benefit, or early by voluntary repayments if you are able to do so.
Age pensioners can also apply for a 1.5x advance from Centrelink. You will be charged a compounding interest rate until it’s paid off in full.
These alternative options may not be enough to help in an emergency. By contrast, Fundo offers up to $5,000 for eligible customers.
An urgent loan with no credit check for Centrelink recipients is much more flexible in comparison. Once you have the funds – sometimes within 60 seconds after approval – you can use them as you need. Remember, if you borrow cash from Fundo It's important to demonstrate your ability to repay the loan promptly and completely when completing your application.
For sure! At Fundo, we strive to provide a second chance at finance to individuals from all walks of life - even if they have bad credit and are on Centrelink benefits. We understand that everyone's financial situation is unique, and we don't base our decisions on your past. Instead, we focus on your current financial circumstances to determine your eligibility for a payday loan. Actually, we don't even bother with a credit check if it's not needed. Start the application process by using our 24/7 dashboard. Once your approval is confirmed, you'll receive the funds in just 60 seconds!
Your Fundo credit score is much better and more fun than the credit score and records kept by credit reporting agencies. Instead of basing our approvals on your formal credit score, instead we figure this out and produce your own unique Fundo credit score. This score is calculated using the information you give us; whether you pay us back on time; and if you tell your friends about Fundo, you'll get some great benefits in return!
Make sure there are always funds in your everyday accounts so they never become overdrawn when we (or anyone else!) takes a direct debit payment.
For as long as possible, keep a clean record. If you can keep up this habit in the future, that's even better! We also add to your credit score if you refer new customers to us - our way of saying thank you!
Don't stop using Fundo to get small loans—we reward customers who stick with us.
If you don't make payments on time or can't handle direct debits, your Fundo score will go down. Please let us know if you are having trouble with money so that it doesn't get worse – we are always here to help.
Can you approve my loan without a credit check?
Yes - we provide emergency no credit check loans to Australians who meet our eligibility criteria and fear they may have bad credit. As we explained earlier in our FAQ on the Fundo credit score, we take many other aspects of your financial situation into consideration when weighing up your application. We only check your credit history with your permission - if we don’t need to check your credit and can use your Fundo credit score, we’ll do that instead! Stress less - Fundo has your back when it comes to fitting you up with an instant cash loan!
Every three months, you can get a free copy of your "real" credit score for free. This is the score or credit history that banks and lenders use to decide if you are “creditworthy” or a good borrower. For an extra fee, they may also give services like protecting you from scams and regular credit score reporting, which may help you when you’re going after major types of finance such as home loans or car loans. Remember: just because you may be receiving Centrelink payments, it does not necessarily mean you have bad credit. Check for free and see!
Unfortunately we cannot approve loans to people who are recently discharged bankrupts, current bankrupts, or party to a Part IX or X debt agreement. This breaches our code of conduct on responsible lending. If you have any questions, please call us, use our text chat, or email hello@fundo.com.au.
If you apply online and provide honest answers to all our questions, are eligible from the beginning, and are approved on the spot, the entire process from application to getting your funds can take as little as three minutes. The time it takes from signing off on your loan agreement to getting the money can sometimes take under 60 seconds, if your bank account has PayID (aka Osko) enabled. When we say we provide fast approval cash loans, we mean it!
If we require additional information, this can take a bit longer, but we work hard to ensure you can get the funds you need within the same day. Things may take longer if we are out of office hours. You can view our latest office hours at the top of the page, next to our phone number.
We strive to make sure that all the information in your loan agreement is presented in a clear and straightforward manner. We also recognise that some applicants may have different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Make sure you fully understand any agreement before accepting it, even if it's from your pals at Fundo!
For any assistance, feel free to reach out to us via email at hello@fundo.com.au or give us a call on 1800 161 391 or use our live text chat. Our friendly team is available to help you from 9am to 6pm on weekdays, 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, and 9am to 1pm on Sundays (AEST).
In Australia, licensed credit providers such as Fundo have a legal obligation to ensure responsible lending practices. They won't be able to lend you money if they believe you won't be able to make the repayments. When providers assess your eligibility for a loan, they consider a range of factors such as your income, expenses, credit history, and credit score. These criteria help them determine if you meet their requirements.
If you receive Centrelink payments, certain traditional lenders, such as banks and credit unions, may still be willing to consider you for a personal loan. They will assess your eligibility based on their standard lending criteria and your ability to make timely payments. Additionally, there are lenders who specialise in providing personal loans tailored for individuals with a low credit score or limited repayment history. This might also apply to individuals receiving Centrelink payments. Just keep in mind that these types of lenders might have higher interest rates and fees compared to traditional lenders. It's worth thinking about whether getting a loan is the right choice for you and your situation, or if there are alternative options that might be a better fit.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer amounts larger than $5,000 - whether you are on Centrelink payments or not. If you need a larger amount of money, you may need to consider applying for a secured personal loan from a bank or mainstream lender. In this case, you would have to provide an asset, such as a car, as security. If you were unable to repay the loan, the lender could sell the asset to recover their money. Be careful! No credit check or low documentation (low doc) personal loans can be risky and come with higher interest rates. It's important to do some research on the fees, interest rates, contract terms, and risks involved. Understanding these factors will help you make an informed decision.

¹As soon as you sign your contract and if all other requirements have been met, we instantly send the funds to your nominated bank account. If your bank works with the New Payments Platform (NPP), most customers see funds in their account within 60 seconds. If your bank is not NPP enabled, or it is a weekend or a public holiday, the funds are usually received by the next business day. Fundo cannot guarantee that loan funds will be received within 60 seconds
²Applying for a loan with Fundo usually takes about 3 minutes. However, this time can change based on a few things, such as your typing speed, the device you're using, and whether you have all the necessary information ready to go.
³As the approval process is influenced by various external factors, we can't guarantee that you'll receive a decision on the same day. However, most of our customers do receive a same-day response to their application with Fundo, if they submit their loan application and all the requested supporting information by 4pm Sydney time during a regular business day.
We typically respond within 2 min or sooner.
